Ahmadinejad (Iran's President)

On Nuclear Weapons:
5/23/07 "With God's help the path to completely enjoying all nuclear capacity is near its end and we are close to the peak."

6/07 "It is too late to stop the progress of Iran."

6/07 "Nuclear energy belongs to the Iranian nation and the Iranian nation will defend this right with their fists in the air.

On America:
2/2/07 “Today, the US government is engulfed in serious crises both in the region and in its own country. Its problems are so deep that it has lost its way in foreign policy. By relying on propaganda tools it is trying to shift its internal crisis overseas."

Iran: Cultural Superpower
2/2/07 "Today the Islamic Republic has been transformed into a cultural superpower and is influencing the depths of the hearts and spirits of peoples. Bullying powers fear this reality and know that they cannot harm us.“

On Sanctions
2/2/07 “Iran is a powerful country with strong relations with many countries. Despite pressures from enemies, today we see that some countries openly announce their support for the Iranian nation’s right to peaceful nuclear technology."

6/07 (re a possible third set of sanctions for Tehran's refusal to suspend enrichment and the possibility that Britain will curb oil and gas investments.)
"We advise them to give up stubbornness and childish games. Some say Iran is like a lion. It's seated quietly in a corner. We advise them not to play with the lion's tail."

6/07 The sanctions "are not worth a red cent for the Iranian nation."

On Saddam Hussein
The president referred to Saddam as a dictator manipulated by Britain and the US, “who was lauded after he attacked the Iraqi people and Iran“.

KHAMENEI (Iran's Supreme Leader)

On Israel
“Hezbollah’s victory against the Zionist regime, the achievements of the Hamas movement in Palestine, and the developments in the Islamic Republic of Iran in different areas are the realization of God’s promises.” Tehran Times2/8/2007

Khamenei has warned against the conspiracy that has turned the Palestinian-Zionist conflict into a Palestinian vs. Palestinian battle. (Tehran Times 2/8/07)

On the West dividing the Muslim Nations
"The enemy appears to be making an extensive and well-hidden move throughout the world of Islam aimed at driving a wedge between the nation of Iran and other Muslim nations, exaggerating religious differences and creating a Shiite-Sunni war in any part of the world where it can," (LA Times (3/22/07)

Enemies "seek to drive a wedge between the ranks of the nation, kill the unity of the Iranian people … and make the Iranians preoccupied with internal divisions."

KHATAMI (Iran's former reformist president)

ON PALESTINE

May 2007 -- "Palestine is the Islamic World's main concern. We cannot remain indifferent towards it. We assure those who pursue the developments there that Israel is going through one of its worst political crises. Israel is a politically dead corpse, and a dying entity. Your (Arabic) Peace Plan would breath new life into that dead corpse, and would be a great service to Israel."

"Therefore, it seems as if the only way to solve the crisis in occupied Palestine is to apply the solution put forth by the Islamic Republic of Iran, that is returning five million Palestinian refugees to their motherland, launch a free and fair election, and let every Palestinian have a vote to decide his fate." (TO THE U.S.) "If you are pro-democracy this is the most democratic proposal."

IRAN DAILY

ON AMERICA IN IRAQ

Feb. 7, 2007 --Iranian ambassador in Baghdad said on Wednesday the second secretary of Iranian Embassy in Iraq was kidnapped by the US, which is accusing Iran for concealing their own defeat in Iraq.

(Iran's government says that the Sunni-Shi'ite problem in Iraq was the direct result of America's aggression in Iraq)

HAMID KARZAI - President of Afghanistan

June 2007 -- "Iran and Afghanistan have never been as friendly as they are today," Mr. Karzai said. "In the past five years, Iran has been contributing to Afghanistan’s reconstruction, and in the past five years, Afghanistan has been Iran’s very close friend."
